As Reinier noted in the EC thread, Zan went and got hooked to World of Warcraft, so it's likely that it'll be a good month before we see him again (if at all). If it really comes down to it, I'll call his cell phone and get him to come to his senses, but as for now, it appears we've lost yet another...

The world seemed to spin about, time passing at its own hectic pace. Closed eyes revealed a sea of black: light’s antithesis pouring into the brain through sealed irises. It was a strange thing how the darkness was the only thing allowed into the mind through closed eyes, how it was the only thing t...

One by one the runes along the hallway’s edges lit up, heralding their transit to the other side. Already, the light from the other side emanated a jade glow that seemed to drown out that of the dim runes to either side. If Zan hadn’t been deceived this time, then they were on their way into the hea...

Just a note, since I'm leaving for school Saturday morning, I'll probably be gone for an indefinite period of time starting Thursday. I'll try and get a post in when I can, but no guarantees on anything at all. Update: The computer is complete, now it just needs an OS... Waiting on my buddy to get m...

It was something he’d barely known in his time in the World. This being Dien’s longest single session in the game, it made sense that the reality of fatigue would begin to set in. He could feel his muscles starting to complain about being overused, his legs favoring one spot on the earth over any fo...

No railings - that ruled out the option of sliding. The walls were far enough apart for maybe two of them to walk abreast, discounting any wings or other appendages. Granted, Zan had taken the initiative to power ahead of everyone, using his gliding to descend to the depths with more speed and ease ...

Not really leavetaking, more time to deal with grief. My dog died, so I'm gonna need 2 to 4 days to clear that emotional river out of my system (unless you want my posts to be even more emo than usual). EDIT: Well, the dog's still dead, but this day has so much good news that I'm...not quite so sad....

Buildings and their lights sped by in a chaotic parade against the car he sat in. From the window, they appeared a constant blur, unless one of them was picked out. There were people on the sidewalks, not caring about the cruiser or its inhabitants - their lives were too fast and important to do so...

Part 1

His mind had barely begun to drift off into unconsciousness before he’d been once again stirred to the realm of the living. To say the least, he was still exhausted as they paraded through the gate hack that the hideout seemed to have, and as his feet came to rest on the soft earth, Dien yawned, str...

(OOC: Third attempt at writing this thing: let’s see if I can’t get something going) Slowly, Dien rose to his feet, somehow not garnering the attention of the entire room with what had happened. A couple players stared, and in spite of it he could only smile nervously. Okay, he thought, taking a sea...

Quiet. Bitter solitude rained down on him, and the world was cold. Dien lay still, shivers running up and down his spine, inflicting more pain than comfort. Even breathing hurt now, just lying on his back with his feet elevated – he could feel the blood’s flow becoming subject to gravity’s pull, but...

Part II

She had seen it coming. Hell, any AI would have seen something like this coming, and it didn’t help matters any that she was probably one of the more advanced in The World. Now, though, from within Dien’s mind, she found herself in a life-or-death struggle against this virus that had so carefully i...

And yet some of these kids try and get into Divergence.

Just proof, Nighthand, that your power is not quite so infinite. :P
