Shattered Souls - Level Up (3x), Used Greaves, Head Gear - A new evil,
Amethos, is revealed in the quest between two experienced players and a
newbie. An event is fought through, and more insight into the true purpose
of the World’s creation is given as the players battle through thick and thin
to not only save themselves, but to save the World and the world.
Unending Sea of Amber - Level Up (2x), Silver Bracer - Just your average,
run-of-the-mill quest in your average, run-of-the-mill field: at least until
things went awry (with such a large group, how could they not?).
Terminated early, unfortunately, but we still got some good stuff out of it.
Trek Through Tenebrous Tower - Level Up (5x), Zanzamas, Soul Eater, Face
Guard, Plate Armor, Silver Hands, Leather Legs, Mage’s Soul (2x),
Resurrect (3x), Golden Grunty - what secrets are held within this ominously
looming tower in the field stricken in constant storm? This quest is my
entrance to the mainplot field, and is definitely the most writing I’ve ever
done for a single thing in my life. Was it worth it? Hell yes.
Saga’s End 2: Confrontation in Mac Anu - Level Up (3x), Glitter, Warrior's
Blood (2x), Health Drink (2x), Wyrm Scale - after the long, grueling
struggle of the Tenebrous Tower and the hacker Suraisu, Dien is
introduced to the group known as the Freedom Fighters, and caught up in
a sudden whirlwind of action that leaves him facing worse consequences
than he’d ever dreamed.
After the Apocalypse: Enter the Brilliant Cultural City! - no prizes - The
infection of the Twilight Virus as a result of Xenobia's intervention has left
Dien in a whole new world of pain. Trapped in the game, Dien is left to
deal with the spreading infection and the new relationships being forged
within the Freedom Fighters. Destiny changed, the player is forced to
deal with things he'd never thought about before, which leaves him in a
rough spot, to say the least.
Assaulting the First Hub; Closed Solitary Gate - Level Up (7x), 7 Star Sword,
Fireman's Coat, Burning Oil (5x), Firebane (3x), 2000 GP - The first trip
through Raine's chaos gate left the Freedom Fighters at the first of three
known dungeons. The objective was simple: destroy the Elites' flashmail
hub at the bottom of the dungeon. A mysterious watcher intervened,
though, and made life that much more difficult for Dien and company by
providing one of the most powerful opponents any of them had ever had
to face. It was a turning point for Dien, with a means to unleash a new
Corrupted Hidden Expanse Part 1: Birth of Flame - IN PROGRESS -
A battle is to be waged. Upon losing Danielle to his infection, Dien is met
by a woman called Cait Sith, who promises to restore to him what is lost.
He is drawn to Theta: Corrupted Hidden Expanse where he enters a world
that was lost to his mind and is drawn into a compass that spans far more
than anyone had thought. Still in progress, and my first solo effort. A little
slow, but other than that a smooth ride.
- Special Events
Peace and Love: Part 1 - Peace and Love: Part 2 (Red Team) - Cooked Bile (3x)
Possibly the most trippy event I’ve ever been in. This event, my debut on the
events floor at Divergence, wasn’t anything close to my best performance, but I
was still a n00b at the time. It’s good for a chuckle every now and then.
Protect the City! Team 6 - Health Drink (3x) - The first time Sigma Server was
opened to the subplots, and only for the special anniversary celebration that was
taking place. It was our duty to protect the city (Carmina Gadelica I think, but I
honestly have no clue) from hordes of monsters who were attacking. I thought it
to be rather fun.
The World Idol Preliminary Round - no prizes - This is my second deepest regret
out of everything that I’ve done in Divergence. Seriously, if I’d done something
other than sing, I might’ve actually gotten into the final round of competition. It
was the one thing I wanted to succeed in, and I threw it to the wind for
stubbornness. Meh, oh well, live and learn (or apparently, if you see my next
special event, not).
Applesauce Day - Speed Charm - *twitch* I just have this in here as a reminder
of what NOT to do for a special event: a thirty-page post of atrocious proportions
containing content that should not have been included. I swear, every creed I
ever made going into an RPG was broken in this “post,” and I never intend to do
that again. Look at its horror, if you want, but just be warned that 3 days of six
hours a day of furious writing will result in crap like that.
Halloween Cosplay Event: Kadaj vs. Johnny the Homicidal Maniac - Stone Storm
This event was fun. I got to fight against Silk cosplay style, and it gave me an
opportunity to get inside the head of one of the crazy characters of Final Fantasy
VII – Advent Children. I’m not sure I got it right, but it was fun, nonetheless. It
also gave me the chance to respark my dueling skills, which had lain dormant
for quite a while. Second place team in the whole thing in only three posts from
each person – pretty good if I say so myself.
St. Patrick’s Day Event - Resurrect - Well, if we’d had more time or preparation,
I can say that tasting this rainbow may have been a whole lot more fun. As it
stands, the post is only decent, lacking most forms of plot or otherwise. All that’s
left is an encounter with a PK and a player left waiting for his partner, but never
meeting him. Eh, at least Lyra gave me a Resurrect for the whole ordeal – that,
and I got a reason why Dien hadn’t leveled all summer long.
