Phoenix's power of wind

Stage 1: Ingraz and Dagaz Rune

The combination of these runes allowed Phoenix to access his true power which is the power of wind. Currently, he has two abilities available to him. The first ability is enhanced speed which is similar to his half-gravity state but without the strength boost. This ability is always active.

The second ability is the Wind Blade. This ability allows him to create a blade of wind by swinging a sword. The blade costs 30 SP to use and has a distance limit of 50 feet or 30 feet in high wind situations.

Powers of gravity

It was recently discovered that Phoenix's power of gravity was not truly his but his friend, Shinto. He loaned Phoenix his power in order for him to survive long enough to find his true power of wind. From current information, Shinto's abilities of gravity covered what Phoenix could do without the pain and much more like gravity energy balls, gravity barrier, and gravity energy weapons. Who knows how powerful Shinto was when he still had his Worldly body?

The Legend of the Phoenix

Chapter 1: Adventures of Being a Normal Player

Phoenix's real life player was a normal 19 year old college student who
goes to class everyday and has a job. He used the World to temporary to relieve his stress of his everyday. Shortly after starting playing in the World, he encountered a ghost boy in a dungeon but the catch was that it knew Phoenix. The boy tried to kill Phoenix but luckily a man in white armor saved him from being killed. After going on a quest to level up, Phoenix received some information about the white knight from a player named Toya.

Phoenix went to the field that Toya saw the white knight went to. Once again, he encounters the ghost boy which it tells him that the white knight is fighting an endless amount of monsters inside of the dungeon. During Phoenix's trek to the dungeon, he encounters various modified creatures that the boy infected with. He met with the white knight only to see his capture by a monster that he defeated earlier outside. After Phoenix defeated another guardian, he was beginning to realize who was the identity of the ghost boy.

Soon after, Phoenix meets up with The End Cypher and went to the field that the ghost boy gave to Cypher earlier. The field was no ordinary one as it was altered by the boy himself. While inside of the dungeon, Phoenix figures out the ghost boy's identity. It was his childhood friend, Shindou who had split personalities. The ghost boy represented the darker personality while the better half was freed by Cypher earlier. Phoenix and Cypher continued to fight the various guardians until they met up with the ghost boy. They defeated the modified white knight monster along with the evil ghost boy but their victory was short-lived as Shindou's essence was spread throughout the World.

After receiving a note from a mysterious hacker telling him to get stronger in order to receive his help in restoring Shindou's essence, Phoenix went on a quest with his clan leader, System Slayer to rescue a fellow clansmate. They fought various regular monsters and a white wyrm to rescue the clansmate but their efforts were in vain as a mysterious cat AI transform the clansmate into a clone of itself. Phoenix decided to leave the clan temporary since he failed to protect him along with his friend.

Chapter 2: The Emergence of a New Phoenix

After an encounter in a hacker dungeon, Phoenix managed to have a temporary reunion with Shindou but the encounter also made him unable to log out in the World and become stuck in it. Realizing this, Phoenix made his leave with the clan official and left for Theta Server. While in Dun Loireag, he meets with Nighthand along with others that share his condition and learns about the true evil of the World. He shortly collaspes in the hideout from mysterious pains and has a dream meeting with Shindou which he tells him that about the source of the pain and along with a challenge. The challenge was that Phoenix must figure out why he was a child during the dream.

Soon after waking up from his dream, he was thrusted into a fight against the Knights of War which one of the admins had a grudge against a fellow member of the group. Phoenix fought various members of the group before they were transported to Mac Anu helped Asgard fight Gem and Eye, the admin strike team. The battle seemed hopeless until a pack of monsters saves the team from total defeat. The monsters that saved them were the team's guardians. Phoenix's guardian was Suzaku who was a phoenix like his namesake.

Their celebration was short-lived as a former member of the group named Argilus warned them of another former member's change to evil. This member was Kurai who controlled the Treeweaver which was a living spear of wood. Phoenix was determined to stop Kurai and wanted to know everything from Argilus but he was untrustworthy towards him. The group decided to head out save Kurai from the Treeweaver but encountered resistance from him and his guardian, Akari. Phoenix knew Argilus wasn't telling the whole truth and try to get answers from him which backfired due to Argilus's hack. They continued their trek of the field until they encountered a choice between life and death doors. Phoenix decided the party's fate as he choose the death door and faced a series of monster challenges until they finally met up with Kurai.

Phoenix decided to face Kurai alone in the battle since he was suffering from the Trail of Misery in his mind. He was so caught up in defeating Kurai alone that he even made Suzaku to stop the other members from interfering in the battle. Phoenix was outmatched by Kurai's skills with the Treeweaver and suffered from a Data Drain by him. He was at near-death and began to go through the Trail of Misery as he remembers events when he couldn't save anyone at all. He encounters Shindou once again from the experience. Shindou convince Phoenix that his desire to protect people made his will to live to weaken and caused the opposite effect instead. Phoenix realizes the error of his ways and was given a rune to Shindou but he could not tell him of its power before Phoenix awoke in the World. He finds out that his new power given by the Ingwaz Rune was the power of gravity and reborns into a new person.

Chapter 3: Revealtions Abound

After receiving his new power, Phoenix's first use of it in a quest occured in Hijinx's Pandora's Box. The quest was rather unusual (but since when anything wasn't unusual with Hijinx around). The end result of the quest was that Phoenix grew a dislike against Hijinx and was close to finding out her secrets. Soon after that ordeal was done with, Phoenix and the others meet with the once-thought to be dead, Nall along with six new players chosen by him. They were brought to the field to stop a hacker from taking the Treeweaver. Phoenix wanted to destroy the Treeweaver but Nall wanted to use it for his own purpose. He began to realize Nall's purpose for being in the new players and hated him for it as he need them to help counteract one of the hacker's powers.

The group manages to meet with the hacker who's named is Xenobia again and tried to defeat her with a plan that Phoenix managed to thought up with but his plan seriously backfired. Xenobia used her own power to control players on Phoenix and used his gravity power against Asgard. They were soon killed by Xenobia with the Treeweaver. Before Xenobia left the group, she summoned a monster called Taimudan which was a massive living time bomb. Their efforts to defeat the monster failed and somehow managed to survive the explosion.

After managing to survive the explosion, Phoenix received a flashmail from the person who gave him the Twilight, Aion. Phoenix asked him to get information on Xenobia before going with the others on an adventure. They thought it was going to be a normal quest until something caused them to be unable to use their hacks. The party continued through their quest and eventually becamed seperated. Phoenix fought a Death Crane during the time of seperation before reunited with the others. They found out that Royce was the one who block their hacks and took the power of Nall to stop her.

After Nall lectured the group for their carelessness, Phoenix decided to get answers from him. The encounter turned into a battle outside of Dun Loireag which took the power of Asgard to stop the battle. It ended up that Nall was going to give some answers to the group after all. The group went to a hot springs field where they encountered Raine and Sheena who act as information agents to Nall. Phoenix managed to learn much about the Elites and the Twilight but decided to leave the group after the antics of Hijinx and Reinier. He discovered that he was unable to leave the field and blamed Raine and Sheena for it. He made an ambush on Raine and ask why she want to trap everyone here. They found out that one of the Elites named Rugudorull trapped them in the field. They battled with Rugudorull and his demonic form Raikiri before Royce forced him back to their server.

After the battle, Phoenix decided to leave the group in order to become more stronger and be able to defeat the Elites without the group's help. He entered a field in Theta and began to fight an orge. During the battle, Phoenix was transported to a white field with just an ancient castle as the only other thing in the field. He entered the castle and was challenged by a couple of Dark Riders. One of the Dark Riders kidnapped Suzaku during the fight. Phoenix was able to defeat the Dark Riders but his mind was becoming more erratic by the moment. He encountered a couple of enemies from the past as the white knight and wyrm tangled with Phoenix. He managed to beat both enemies before encountering the person who transported him to the castle along with kidnapping Suzaku.

The masked man told Phoenix that he was a fake of the original Phoenix. He mentioned that he was the first test subject of a new strain of Twilight that would destroy the soul of a player but there was a problem with the virus. It caused the original Phoenix split into two which one of them left the lab before Aion could help them. He also reveals to Phoenix the scars on his chest and back by ripping off his shirt. The masked man wanted to destroy Phoenix since to him, he was just another monster. At that point, Phoenix began to fight the masked man but he was overwhelmed by his powers. Before Phoenix could been finished off, the masked man revealed himself as the other Phoenix and gave the final blow but it didn't kill Phoenix. Luckily, Shindou entered into Phoenix's body and use some new gravity powers to fight off the other Phoenix which he knew that the other Phoenix was a shapeshifter. The other Phoenix escaped before he could accidently revealed his identity to Shindou. Shindou free Suzaku from her cage but he was unable to speak with Phoenix before he had to leave Phoenix's body. The fate of Phoenix was unknown at that point...

Chapter 4: A New Purpose

Suzaku found herself in an empty room in Mac Anu a week later only to find Hijinx fighting against the other Freedom Fighters with their pets trapped within the hideout. She tried to save the other pets from inside of the hideout only to find that the others managed to defeat Hijinx but she suffered from the barrier's effects which limited her powers to three.

One day later, Phoenix arrived on a roof in Mac Anu with Suzaku telling him that it's been eight days since the quest in the castle. She finds out that she can't access the last eight days of his memory and tells him that she doesn't know what happened to her after being kidnapped by the Dark Rider before she awoke in the room one day before. She decides to transform into a shirt as for new disguise for the time being until Phoenix gets a new shirt. While chasing down Nall and Nighthand, Phoenix finds out that he can control the level of gravity of himself without feeling pain and staying at that level. He demands that Nighthand and Nall to take him to wherever they are going. Nighthand tells Phoenix that the place they are going is one that he's not allowed to enter without permission. After Hijinx and Asgard showed up, Phoenix decided to head off on his own to investigate what happened during the missing eight days but someone else was going to follow him as well.

Once Phoenix arrived at the field, he immediately encountered a merged monster. During the fight, he suffered a concussion and with Suzaku out of the picture, he was saved by Cypher. He managed to recover in a cave which he told Cypher the current state of affairs. After they were done talking, they tried to leave but a hacker named Lagistu sealed off the field and was ordered to take out Phoenix. He threw Phoenix into a rocky cage which he fought with another merged monster. Phoenix defeated the monster but couldn't help Cypher as he was beaten by Lagistu's robot called the Sixth.

Phoenix was sent into a berserker fury which he almost died blindly charging in. Lagistu and Suzaku's words convince Phoenix to find a will to survive which allow him to access another substage of his power. This power allows Phoenix to focus on part of the gravity field. Before Phoenix and Suzaku could make an attack on the Sixth, the masked man returned and took control the Sixth. He used the Sixth to stomp Lagistu to nearly death and sent a virus to delete the remaining character data of him. Phoenix stood by Lagistu's last moments and took his shirt and cloak. He had Suzaku sent a message to the CCCorp admins about getting Cypher before leaving the field with more questions than answers along with a new power and clothes.

Chapter 5: Resurrection of the True Hero

Soon after the events with the Sixth, Phoenix rejoined with the Freedom Fighters to plan their next action. After that, he decided to step outside of the hideout which the Knights of War found him and wanted to capture him. A massive fight soon broke between the Freedom Fighters, the Admins, and the Elites themselves as Mac Anu was destroyed in the process. The Freedom Fighters barely escaped from the battle as the Elites came out in full force along with capturing the admins as a bonus.

The Freedom Fighters found themselves in the original hideout that Raine, Sheena, and Nall built when they first began this rebellion. They had a new mission in taking out part of the Elites' flashmail system. They split up into two groups to go after two of the three hubs. Phoenix was part of the group that initially failed in its mission after they were seriously drained by the Obelisk Snake. They left the hub to meet up with the other group that was making some progress. The group soon encounters the first out of three guardians designed by Marionette, an Elite henchman who control the hubs. The guardian Primal was rather ruthless during the battle as it killed most of the members multiple times including Phoenix himself. Even though they eventually defeated Primal, for Phoenix he suffered as the dormant darkness was awakened once again.

After returning from the first hub, Phoenix was immediately thrown into a battle for control of his own body as the darkness was strong enough to seal his soul forever. The darkness did managed to win control but Suzaku was prepared for this event which she initialized Program Miaka. The program allowed Phoenix one more chance to purge the darkness once and for all. He fought with assistance of an AI named Miaka as he fought the darkness's four guardians. Miaka sacrificed her life during the battle with the four guardian which made Phoenix alone with the final battle against the darkness. It had full control of the gravity power and was able to use it without pain. Phoenix was nearly dead when he realized that his gravity power wasn't truly his but Shinto's. With that realization, Shinto gave him a sword and the Dagaz Rune. With the power of the rune, Phoenix was able to defeat the darkness within him with the power of wind.

After the battle, Phoenix learned from Shinto about what really happened with his powers and the relation of the modified Twilight. Shinto knew that Phoenix wasn't ready for his true power and gave him the gravity power as a loan but with nasty side effects. The pain was caused by the darkness trying to break free and figured out the power's maximum potential. During the fake Phoenix's castle quest, Shinto temporary took over Phoenix's body but was unable to stop the darkness from taking control. Ten days later, Shinto was able to seal the darkness but at the cost of Phoenix's memories. Before Shinto left, he revealed that the fake Phoenix was a shape-shifter and his wind powers have more to them.

Chapter 6: Blademaster of the Wind

After waking up from his battle of life and death, Phoenix was a bit annoyed that he was still on the floor of the meeting room while there were people in the room. He soon went into the training room to develop his new wind powers. He found out that he was still quite fast and have an attack called the Wind Blade which sends a blade of wind flying towards the enemy. He rejoined with the Freedom Fighters to the second hub which his powers proved very useful throughout the mission. They defeated the Marionette Devil, the second guardian, with the help of the Fae items. During the battle, Phoenix began to suspect Zan of being in league with Marionette but doesn't have proof to confirm his theory.

With recent success of the second hub, the Freedom Fighters began to prepare for the assault of the third hub. Phoenix has a talk with Senna about his suspicions about Zan which she will help him in information. As Phoenix rests for the upcoming mission, Suzaku hears a voice that makes her wonder about who's Yui that it speaks of along with the truth that it wants to reveal to her. Once Angel was defeated, the Freedom Fighters was finally able to meet with Marionette. Before they met with him, Zan confirm Phoenix's suspicions along with the final keyword to Marionette's lair.

Also, he received an orb for Suzaku that was more powerful than any of the previous orbs. Phoenix equipped the orb into Suzaku which causes her to go into a coma-like state. He did not worry about her as Miaka came to him and told him about that she needed to find her true self. Phoenix was also visited by Miki who is Miaka's emissary and told him that his purpose in the World will be revealed soon. While Phoenix was with other Freedom Fighters talking to Marionette, Suzaku managed to find her true self which was that she is human. Her human self is a girl named Yui who knew Kazuma in the past and love him. Miaka revealed herself to Suzaku and told her to return to Phoenix so she could help him with her new power against a terrifying enemy in order to rescue Nall.

Chapter 7: Master and Pet No Longer
